A breathtaking and rare find! Two student paintings with a portrait of the student at the age he painted them - incredible! Painted on Reeve's student boards, these paintings are dark, moody, and feature a depth of character that can only be felt when you see them in person. Both are signed "Megson" on the back, and one is dated "Aug 1915."

The portrait of Charles Megson denotes being taken when he was 12 years old, another note that is made on the back of one of the paintings. It's extremely rare to find an original painting alongside a portrait of the artist that were all created around the same time - but in this instance you get two paintings! A truly remarkable set that deserves a loving long-term home that will keep the three of them together.

Portrait measures roughly 12.5x8.5cm

Signs of life on the paintings include rough corners and edges as well as some wear on their surfaces. Signs of life on the portrait is just a slight curve in the cardstock.
