Rare Antique 19th Century Large Spongeware Jug

This is such a spectacular piece! A gorgeous spongeware pitcher from the mid-late 1800s featuring a blue pattern that was sponged on by hand repetitively around the jug. Features a very wide mouth, strong handle, and rotund belly on a flared base. Unmarked. Antique c. 1860s-1880s.

So many signs of life on this piece: some crazing, staining, chips in the glaze, and worn away paint on the handle. So many lovely imperfections throughout - study photos for details. No cracks or chips.
