English Cottage Embroidered Poem by Patience Strong, Framed

Such a beautiful and sweet piece - a peaceful little embroidery project with a delicate poem by Patience Strong:

"What more could the heart desire, in sunshine or in rain, than a quaint old cottage in a little English lane."

Stitched with pastel colours, then framed in a lightly golden gilt frame. Hooks and string solidly attached, ready to hang. Dated 1980 on the reverse, but the embroidery itself seems to be older, possibly mid-century.

Measures 33cm x 21cm.

Some time-worn stains and imperfections - frame and glass are still in wonderful condition.
