German AEG-Telefunken Solid Brass Egg Cup or Mortar

A truly unusual piece - an egg cup made by a German electric company. AEG-Telefunken was a German company that sold radios and televisions and was formed by AEG, an electrical equipment producer. This small mortar or egg cup could have been a souvenir or possibly a base for something on display?

Either way, it's visually stunning with a buttery brass surface, lovely curves, and is very heavy for its size. Would make for a lovely paperweight. Vintage c. 1967-1979.

Height: just over 8cm (3.25")
Diameter: just over 5cm (2") at the top opening

Slight imperfection on the rim, a lovely dark patina. No damage, very heavy and sturdy for its size.
