Mediterranean Coastal Scene Oil on Board Vintage Painting

Blues, boats, and white-washed walls make up this lovely landscape of what appears to be a church or possibly a more industrial collection of buildings alongside a gentle waterway. Notice the boats and the reflections on the water - quite peaceful. A bit of a naive folk style leaning towards impressionism. It captures the essence of a slow Sunday quite nicely.

Believed to be done by artist K.L. Cope. Found in a collection of paintings all believed to have been done by Cope (some of which were signed.) Unsigned, undated. Vintage c. 1970s.

Measures 40.5 x 47cm (16x18.5")

Signs of a life lived include rough edges and small surface imperfections. The bottom left corner shows a small spot where it looks like tape has lifted some of the original surface. Some craquelure beginning to form along the corners as well. Study photos carefully.
