Ornate Portrait in Golden & Velvet Gilt Frame

A stunning gilt frame featuring a print of The Laughing Cavalier by Frans Hals. Ornate and detailed, the outer frame is a composite with a burnt orange velvet interior surrounding the inner frame, which seems to be plastic. With many flaws, this is a delicate piece that needs a loving long-term home on a gallery wall. Marked '61 on the back, ready to hang. Vintage c. 1960s.

The outer frame has been repaired in multiple spots. Cracks can be seen up close on the front and along the sides. There are instances of missing pieces as well. None of these parts feel loose. Hook on the back feels sturdy. Hang carefully, as this has a lot of weight to it.
